Nel presente lavoro, la tecnica della tensiometria a goccia sospesa è stata utilizzata per descrivere meglio le proprietà reologiche interfacciali degli asfalteni, estratti da due oli brasiliani, alle interfacce toluene/acqua ed eptolo (eptano+toluene)/acqua, variando le proporzioni dei solventi organici in 1:1 e 1,5:1 e la concentrazione degli asfalteni. Sono state studiate le isoterme di adsorbimento e le equazioni di stato di Gibbs e Langmuir. Per i sistemi contenenti toluene come solvente, l’attrazione tra le molecole del solvente e le molecole di asfaltene è forte a causa della sua elevata solubilità, riducendo così l’attività interfacciale delle molecole di asfaltene. Nei sistemi contenenti eptolo come solvente, l’interazione tra le molecole di asfaltene e le molecole di solvente è debole, con conseguente aumento dell’attività interfacciale delle molecole di asfaltene. Le proprietà reologiche interfacciali dilatative dei sistemi studiati (IFT, pressione superficiale e modulo di elasticità) dipendono esclusivamente dalla copertura interfacciale. Questi risultati sono utili per comprendere come avvengono i processi di adsorbimento dell’asfaltene nelle interfacce fluido/fluido a livello microscopico.
