De nouveaux complexes de base de Schiff de métaux de transition de première rangée obtenus à partir de sulfonamide et de benzil ont été préparés et caractérisés à l’aide de la spectroscopie UV-Vis, des données spectrales IR, des études d’absorption atomique et des mesures conductométriques. Le ligand s’est avéré être bidenté et les études d’absorption atomique ont révélé une configuration [M(L)2.(Cl)2] pour tous les complexes, où deux groupes chloro sont attachés aux cinquième et sixième sites de coordination du métal. Les mesures conductométriques ont suggéré la nature électrolytique de tous les complexes métalliques. Le ligand ainsi que ses complexes avec Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Cr(III) ont été évalués pour leur activité antibactérienne in vitro contre certaines espèces bactériennes, telles que E. coli, Mycobacterium Smegmatis et Pseubomans Aeuroginosa. Des activités antibactériennes ont été observées pour la base de Schiff et les complexes de métaux de transition.
