En esta investigación se identifican las competencias para el emprendimiento en los estudiantes del Programa de Administración de Empresas de la Corporación Universitaria del Caribe (CECAR). Como bases teóricas se adoptan las teorías sobre currículos y emprendimiento y se siguió de cerca el proyecto Tuning que presenta la estructura de las competencias educacionales en Europa, y en América Latina, el cual señala que las competencias genéricas y específicas identifican los elementos compartidos, comunes a cualquier titulación. La metodología utilizada en la investigación fue de tipo cuantitativo acompañada de distintas estrategias e instrumentos de investigación que permitieron el logro de los objetivos propuestos. Los resultados revelan que es necesario desarrollar competencias que permitan detectar las oportunidades de negocios y de proyectos empresariales las cuales con un gran liderazgo permiten alcanzar los logros y las metas propuestas.
