Com o aumento do uso das TICs para ajudar a lidar com informações dentro das organizações, a natureza política da informação ganhou mais destaque. Nesse sentido, os profissionais da informação, entre os quais se incluem os bibliotecários, tornaram-se altamente influentes e respeitados na gestão de todas as organizações. A aplicação e difusão das tecnologias da informação e comunicação não podem ser vistas isoladamente do desenvolvimento das tecnologias de telecomunicações. Este estudo concentra-se nos seguintes objetivos: identificar os tipos de dados/informações criados/gerados na Biblioteca Kashim Ibrahim, Universidade Ahmadu Bello, Zaria, explorar o tipo de dispositivos TIC disponíveis para a gestão da informação na Biblioteca Kashim Ibrahim, avaliar o tipo de instalações TIC utilizadas na gestão da informação na Biblioteca Kashim Ibrahim, examinar em que medida os dispositivos de tecnologia da informação e comunicação estão a ser utilizados para a gestão da informação na Biblioteca Kashim Ibrahim, descobrir as razões pelas quais a informação gerada é utilizada na Biblioteca Kashim Ibrahim e explorar os problemas encontrados na utilização de dispositivos TIC para a gestão da informação na Biblioteca Kashim Ibrahim, ABU, Zaria.
