Este estudo investiga a cobertura jornalística das questões da educação na Nigéria pelo jornal The Nation. A análise de conteúdo foi utilizada como abordagem/método de investigação para este estudo, enquanto a folha de codificação foi utilizada como instrumento de investigação para recolher os dados necessários. Verificou-se que os jornais The Nation cobriram e noticiaram diariamente questões relacionadas com a educação durante o período de estudo. Revelou também que os jornais The Nation deram proeminência às questões da educação, através da sua cobertura e reportagem numa escala insignificante e que apenas as questões em desenvolvimento sobre a educação foram relatadas à medida que aconteciam, sem uma reportagem aprofundada das questões da educação. Consequentemente, recomendou-se, entre outras coisas, que os jornais The Nation e outros meios de comunicação social envidassem esforços sustentáveis para garantir que as questões de educação fossem consideravelmente cobertas e noticiadas ao povo.
