A República Democrática do Congo tem sofrido perturbações económicas e de segurança ao ponto de ser classificada como tendo um 'clima empresarial muito difícil' pelo Bureau de Negócios de 2014 do Representante Comercial dos EUA. No entanto, desde 2009, lançou um vasto programa de reformas para melhorar o clima empresarial e de investimento, a fim de alcançar uma classificação elevada no relatório Doing Business. O objectivo deste documento é proporcionar ao leitor uma decifração sucinta da evolução do ambiente empresarial na República Democrática do Congo de 2003 a 2020. Através de uma análise estatística dos dados secundários das bases de dados do Banco Mundial, dos Ministérios do Plano, Orçamento, Finanças e Economia, os resultados mostram que, das dez áreas avaliadas, seis áreas viram os seus indicadores melhorar significativamente. No entanto, permanecem enormes desafios para as autoridades congolesas para assegurar a sustentabilidade das reformas adoptadas e para os investigadores para investigar a eficácia das reformas adoptadas, tendo em conta os actuais desafios da globalização e da tecnologia digital.
