The growing demand for clean and renewable energy has intensified the search for efficient alternatives to fossil fuels. Among emerging technologies, electrochemical water splitting, which decomposes water into hydrogen and oxygen, offers a promising route for sustainable hydrogen production. However, high overpotentials and sluggish reaction kinetics in the hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions hinder their practical application. This book explores the chemical synthesis and characterization of cobalt-iron phosphate/reduced graphene oxide composite electrodes as cost-effective, stable, and high-performance electrocatalysts. By integrating transition metal phosphates with conductive carbon supports, the study demonstrates how composition, structure, and interface engineering enhance catalytic activity, conductivity, and water-splitting efficiency through synergistic effects.
