La question de la diversité et du genre prend de plus en plus d’importance en raison des intérêts sociaux, des dispositions légales et du désir croissant de la société de voir l’égalité entre tous les êtres humains se concrétiser dans la vie quotidienne. Ce processus de changement des mentalités est désormais inéluctable dans la société et entraîne des modifications structurelles dans les organisations qui régissent la vie en communauté. Les établissements d’enseignement ne sont pas épargnés. Il existe déjà diverses études scientifiques sur les thèmes de l’inégalité dans l’éducation, de la discrimination sexuelle et des processus d’exclusion, principalement en Allemagne, mais très peu concernent les écoles autrichiennes. Les liens entre le handicap éducatif et les différences entre les sexes sont particulièrement négligés dans les écoles autrichiennes. Cette étude vise à examiner les inégalités en matière d’éducation en termes de diversité entre les élèves issus ou non de l’immigration et les éventuelles inégalités entre les sexes. Enfin, des conclusions tirées de comparaisons entre la littérature scientifique et de l’analyse de l’étude empirique seront présentées, accompagnées de pistes de solution possibles.
