Este livro analisa o Centro de Arte Contemporânea Inhotim - Caci, um espaço que oferece transformações espaciais e culturais por meio da complexa relação entre arquitetura, arte e paisagem. O Caci expõe um conjunto ímpar de arte contemporânea e de plantas tropicais, que convivem com pavilhões assinados, em grande parte, por jovens arquitetos. Embora o Caci seja um centro de arte contemporânea, a arte não é sua única protagonista. Além da arte, arquitetura e paisagismo coexistem de forma harmônica. No entanto, a importância de cada componente e como cada um impacta no ambiente são temas que ainda não foram completamente explorados. A análise dos três eixos do Caci, arquitetura dos jovens arquitetos, a exuberante paisagem tropical e as obras exponenciais dos artistas consagrados, têm a finalidade de identificar e avaliar os possíveis conflitos que cada componente exerce sobre o outro e sobre o ambiente. Três capítulos expõem a análise de pavilhões focados na arquitetura local, se a arquitetura dos pavilhões está adequada, em relação ao aspecto espaço-temporal, às obras de arte expostas, e, por último, investiga os requisitos que levaram o Caci a receber o título de jardim botânico.
