L’Assessment Center est considéré comme une procédure complexe mais efficace dans le domaine de la sélection et du développement du personnel. Les exigences liées à cette procédure sont donc élevées. D’une part, il doit répondre à des critères de qualité et d’objectivité et, d’autre part, il doit obtenir des résultats optimaux adaptés au domaine d’application. Ces résultats et attentes sont basés sur les idées des utilisateurs. Ainsi, dans la pratique, l’Assessment Center est influencé par différents groupes d’intérêt et devient un outil de politique du personnel et de micro-politique. Cette évolution crée un écart entre les attentes et la réalité de cet outil de développement du personnel. Cela soulève la question de savoir si l’utilisation actuelle du centre d’évaluation n’est pas déjà un centre d’évaluation 2.0, qui s’éloigne de sa conception initiale et a ainsi évolué d’un outil de diagnostic d’aptitude à un outil de micro-politique d’entreprise.
