Observing behaviour against specific performance criteria is one of the most effective ways to assess professional capability as it provides insights into how individuals actually perform in work settings. Behavioural observations of performance can capture the nuances of communication style, approaches to problem solving, decision making and a wide variety of other key competencies. The Cee Q is a behaviour-based competency model that focuses on the required behaviours and actions that individuals need to exhibit in order to achieve desired outcomes. The model facilitates on-the-job behaviour to be assessed against relevant criteria and to pinpoint specific underperformance, optimal performance and adverse performance issues.Behavioural observations against defined performance criteria are less susceptible to biases and stereotypes, as the focus is on specific, observable actions, providing valuable insights for development and growth and for highlighting areas for improvement. The CEE Q BEHAVIOURAL BASED OCCUPATIONAL COMPETENCIES MODEL has 36 key professional competencies that can be mixed and matched to suit the needs of specific job roles. The model can be used for job selection, ongoing professional development and succession planning. Each competency also provides reasons for underperformance and suggested development approaches.
