Il presente lavoro fornisce un catalogo delle mosche asiloidi (superfamiglia: Asiloidea) presenti in Egitto, che costituiscono oltre un quarto del numero totale delle specie di mosche egiziane. In Egitto sono presenti solo sei famiglie di asiloidi, trattate nel catalogo, ovvero: Asilidae, Bombyliidae, Mydidae, Mythicomyiidae, Scenopinidae, Therevidae. I dati per il catalogo sono stati raccolti da esemplari conservati nelle collezioni di insetti egiziane, oltre che da esemplari raccolti dall’autore in diverse località egiziane dal 1991 al 2014. Molte informazioni sono state ricavate anche dalla letteratura e dai database dei siti web.
