The Indian economy has been referred to as a ’bright spot’ by the InternationalMonetary Fund (IMF) in its 2015 survey. This is due to the growth of the Indiancorporate sector over the last two to three decades and after opening up the economy inthe beginning of the last decade of the 20th century. This growth has attractedinvestment from across the world in the form of capital, but its success depends on theability of companies to fulfil the expectations of investors through the share marketprices on the stock market. The investors judge the worth of the company intrinsicallythrough stock market prices, considering it as a reflection of past performance, earningfactors, and government policies.
