Pedro de Valdivia fue un gran conquistador español. Al frente de un puñado de soldados, en 1540 el extremeño Valdivia conquistó el territorio del actual Chile, pero trece años después fue ejecutado tras sufrir terribles torturas en el levantamiento mapuche conocido como la Guerra del Arauco.
