Afin de gérer efficacement les ressources naturelles d’un bassin fluvial, il est nécessaire d’acquérir des données qui contribueront à une planification environnementale économiquement viable. L’objectif de cette recherche était de caractériser morphométriquement le bassin de la rivière Taperoá, en utilisant des ressources de géotraitement comme outil. Le logiciel utilisé pour traiter les données est QGIS summer 2.18.19. Le traitement des données SRTM a permis d’obtenir le MDE de base pour l’élaboration des cartes thématiques nécessaires à la détermination des caractéristiques morphométriques. Pour minimiser les impacts négatifs sur le bassin, des techniques de gestion et de conservation des sols devraient être adoptées dans la zone, ainsi que la restauration de la forêt riveraine. L’utilisation de QGIS s’est avérée viable pour caractériser le bassin.
