O calorímetro de bomba mede o valor calórico do carvão e do ácido benzoico. Em primeiro lugar, fazemos uma pelota de carvão (1 g) no aparelho de prensagem de pelotas, por pressão. Depois de fazer uma pelota, pegamos numa bomba e prendemos o fio na cruz e colocamos o fio de algodão (10 cm) no fio e na cruz na bomba. Agora liga-se o tubo de oxigénio no topo da bomba e adiciona-se o oxigénio de 400 kg/cm2. Abrir a válvula do tubo de oxigénio e segurar a bomba e colocá-la no recipiente. Agora fechamos a camisa com o cabo combinado e colocamos o sensor para a medição da temperatura e colocamos o motor do agitador e juntamos os eléctrodos na bomba através da tampa combinada. Agora, no calorímetro digital da bomba, anota-se a temperatura inicial e, em seguida, define-se o zero com o botão de ajuste. Passado algum tempo, a temperatura aumenta e, em poucos segundos, a temperatura torna-se constante, altura em que as pastilhas ardem completamente. Agora, observe a temperatura constante e calcule o valor padrão do carvão e, com isso, calcule o Cv do carvão.
