In the thriller Burnt Offerings, a widowed burn unit doctor is suddenly cast into a web of deceit just as he finds the courage to start a new life. Through these rekindled friendships, Fogerty starts to break down the wall that has been protecting him from the outside world. As he helps his friend solve the murders, he finds new love with a colleague and realizes he must face not only his wife’s untimely death, but also the agonizing decision whether to settle down again or strike out on a fresh path. Just as Dr. Fogerty thinks his future is looking brighter, he must come to grips with the fact that obsessions have consequences and that no one can ever run far enough away from the past.
