A cross sectional and retrospective study was conducted was from September to December 2019 at Akaki Abattoir to determine the occurrence rate and economic importance of bovine fasciolosis. For the cross section study systemic random sampling was followed and a total of 384 cattle were inspected. And for the retrospective study 2010 to 2019 data was analyzed. The total average annual loss was also calculated from this retrospective data, however, pricing was based on the market during the study period. Postmortem examination was carried out following standard meat inspection procedure. Liver pathology was also characterized as light, moderate and severs following stander procedure. During the study period 384 bovine livers were examined and 125 (32.55%) were found to be affected by the disease. In the retrospective study (2011-2019) .
