Este trabalho de investigação examinou a eficácia dos blogues como ferramentas de marketing dos meios de comunicação social, ao mesmo tempo que investigou o poder de influência dos bloguistas nos hábitos de compra dos seus leitores. Investigando a relação entre todas as partes interessadas de um blogue (o leitor, o bloguista e as marcas), verificou-se que os bloguistas exercem uma enorme influência nos hábitos de compra dos seus leitores, uma vez que a confiança e a credibilidade dos bloguistas levam os leitores a comprar bens. Verificou-se que os blogues, enquanto ferramentas de marketing dos meios de comunicação social, têm um efeito valioso para todas as partes interessadas: o leitor obtém informações verdadeiras sobre bens e serviços, a marca recebe marketing através do blogue, o que resulta num aumento das vendas, e o bloguista aumenta o número de leitores e ganha dinheiro.
