El objetivo de la obra es abordar los mitos y leyendas sobre los transgénicos y aportar argumentos con rigor científico. La cultura científica de la sociedad, la implicación de los científicos en la divulgación, el papel de los medios de comunicación y las empresas son otros de los actores que el autor trata en este libro. Se trata de un manual de supervivencia para entender qué son y que no son los transgénicos. Con voluntad divulgadora y sin dejar de banda el rigor que el tema se merece, el autor ofrece al lector todos los elementos necesarios porque pueda extraer conclusiones propias.
