Bioética y los bienes humanos’ ofrece a estudiantes y lectores interesados una breve introducción a la bioética, desde una perspectiva filosófica de la ley natural. Esta mirada, cuyos orígenes se remontan a la antigüedad clásica, ha marcado profundamente la ética y el derecho en Occidente y goza en la actualidad de un interesante renacimiento. Los autores profundizan en los principios éticos de autonomía, no-maleficencia, beneficencia, justicia y en la dignidad humana desde la perspectiva del derecho natural, y utilizan este enfoque para analizar algunas de las cuestiones bioéticas contemporáneas más controversiales. El texto se completa con apéndices que reflejan planteamientos personales de Alfonso Gómez-Lobo sobre el estatuto del embrión humano y sobre la definición y la determinación de la muerte. ’Bioética y los bienes humanos’ fue traducido por Ediciones UC en homenaje al destacado filósofo y bioeticista chileno Alfonso Gómez-Lobo (1940- 2011), quien fuera profesor de las Facultades de Filosofía y Medicina de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. 10
