In diesem Buch sind wir viel mehr daran interessiert, Low-Level-Methoden, die für alle Studenten, die sich mit dem Bereich der Verarbeitung und Analyse von Bildern und Vision in der universitären Ausbildung (Lizenz oder Master) vertraut machen wollen. Zu diesem Zweck wurde das Dokument in sieben Kapitel gegliedert, die vom menschlichen Sehsystem über die Entstehung und Erfassung des Bildes durch Sensoren (Kapitel I) bis hin zu den Definitionen allgemeiner Schlüsselwörter, die in der Welt der digitalen Bilder verwendet werden, sowie zu Histogrammen und deren Manipulation und Auswirkungen auf Bilder in Kapitel II führen.In Kapitel III werden die grundlegenden Begriffe der Bildentstehung, -speicherung und Farbdarstellung ausführlich dargestellt. Danach werden wir in Kapitel IV die wichtigsten Konzepte der Bildabtastung und -quantifizierung betrachten.In Kapitel V finden wir räumliche und frequenzlineare Filtermethoden mit einigen sehr populären Filtertypen. Kapitel VI enthält eine Beschreibung einiger Konturerkennungsmethoden, die auf ersten und zweiten Ableitungen beruhen. Zum Schluss wird in Kapitel VII eine kleine Einführung in den Bereich der Bildsegmentierung gegeben.
