छत्रपति शिवाजी महाराज के पुत्र छत्रपति संभाजी महाराज मां भारती के सच्चे सपूत थे। उन्होंने अपने पिता छत्रपति शिवाजी महाराज के ’हिंदवी स्वराज्य’ अर्थात भारत को हिंदू राष्ट्र बनाने की सोच को आगे बढ़ाने का निर्णय लिया। अपने पिता के इस महान विचार को सिरे चढ़ाने के लिए उन्होंने मुगलविहीन भारत बनाने का संकल्प लिया। यह भारतीय इतिहास का दुर्भाग्य ही है कि जहां प्रचलित इतिहास में हम छत्रपति शिवाजी महाराज के ’हिंदवी स्वराज्य’ के संकल्प की उपेक्षा करते हैं, वहीं छत्रपति संभाजी महाराज के ’मुगल विहीन भारत’ बनाने के संकल्प को भी दृष्टि से ओझल करने का प्रयास करते हैं।
