W ramach niniejszych badań zebrano roślinę Terminalia arjuna z rodziny Combretaceae w pobliżu kampusu Bahauddin Zakariya University w Multanie. Różne części rośliny, takie jak liście, kora pnia i owoce, zostały starannie zebrane, bez zanieczyszczeń, i wysuszone w cieniu. Przeprowadzono badania fitochemiczne różnych zmielonych części rośliny za pomocą odpowiednich testów chemicznych i stwierdzono obecność różnych metabolitów wtórnych. W liściach, korze pnia i owocach Terminalia arjuna znaleziono glikozydy kardiotoniczne. Zmierzono ciężar właściwy surowców leczniczych i poddano je ekstrakcji kolejno dichlorometanem (DCM) i metanolem. Następnie wszystkie ekstrakty poddano badaniom aktywności biologicznej, takim jak testy na działanie przeciwbakteryjne, przeciwgrzybicze, fitotoksyczność oraz test śmiertelności artemii. Stwierdzono, że ekstrakt metanolowy z liści Terminalia arjuna wykazywał umiarkowaną aktywność przeciwgrzybiczą i fitotoksyczną, kora (metanol) wykazywała umiarkowaną aktywność fitotoksyczną, a owoce (metanol) wykazywały dobrą aktywność przeciwbakteryjną i fitotoksyczną oraz nieznaczną aktywność przeciwgrzybiczą.
