In Deuteronomy 33: 27, 'The eternal God is my refuge, and underneath arethe everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; andshall say, Destroy them' I found to be so comforting to me. For so long, Ihave been looking for security. I have found Jesus Christ to be my only truesecurity! How often have I entrusted my life to other things such as a career,a noble cause, money, a twelve-step program, or alcohol. But what I havelearned through my journey is that my only true refuge is the eternal God,who always holds out his arms to catch me when I fall. For I know now, thatno storm can destroy me when I take refuge in him. Today, I dare to be boldbecause God is my refuge. Today, I am no longer a victim. I choose to bewhom I want to be. No more false pretenses or vicesjust me. Today, I choosenot to abuse substances, situations, or things. I have found the ultimateanswernot in a 12step program, but in Jesus Christ and his word.Thank you Lord for the blessing of not only acceptance of myself andmy mistakes, but also for being able to forgive. Forgiveness has been theultimate healing process for myself and for others. Thank you for releasingthe skeletons from my closet and dissolving them. Today, I have a solutionto all of my problems. The solution is forgiveness through Jesus Christ, whodied on the cross for all of my sinspast, present, and future. Resentment forme, has been replaced with forgiveness. What a simple concept that is for me.Today, at this very moment in time, I am truly freed!Thank you Lord Jesus.
