La pleine conscience est un processus continu ; les gens peuvent devenir plus résilients en augmentant leur niveau de pleine conscience. Ce livre examine l’effet de la pleine conscience sur la résilience psychologique chez les patients atteints de cancer. Selon l’Organisation mondiale de la santé, le cancer est en train de devenir la deuxième cause de décès. Les patients atteints de cancer éprouvent davantage de sentiments négatifs tels que la tristesse, la culpabilité, le ressentiment, le chagrin, etc. Les exercices de pleine conscience sont utiles pour faire face aux douleurs émotionnelles et aux troubles liés au diagnostic de cancer chez les patients. 100 patients atteints de cancer, 50 hommes et 50 femmes, ont été sélectionnés par échantillonnage aléatoire stratifié et provenaient de différents hôpitaux de Multan, Lahore et Islamabad. Le Freiburg Mindfulness Inventory (Walach et al., 2006) et le Brief Resilience Scale (Smith et al., 2008) ont été administrés aux patients. Les résultats ont montré une relation positive significative entre la pleine conscience et la résilience psychologique, ainsi qu’un impact positif significatif de la pleine conscience sur la résilience psychologique. Le rôle du genre dans la pleine conscience et la résilience psychologique est également mis en évidence. La formation à la résilience basée sur la pleine conscience (MBRT) aide à améliorer la capacité à faire face au stress et à l’adversité.
