Por vivenciar situações em que crianças chegam à 4ª série (atual 5º ano) sendo incapazes de produzir e interpretar textos, entendi ser de fundamental importância um estudo sobre esta problemática. O objetivo do presente estudo foi avaliar os efeitos de uma programação de ensino, aplicada com o uso do software educativo Mestre®, nas habilidades de leitura e escrita de oito alunos da 4ª série de uma escola localizada na periferia da Zona Norte de São Paulo. 10
