O objetivo da investigação é avaliar a relação entre os traços pessoais dos professores de educação física que trabalham em escolas secundárias e o tipo de desporto, modalidade desportiva, género, anos de serviço e tipo de escola. Com este objetivo, a investigação foi realizada utilizando um modelo de triagem. A investigação foi realizada com professores de educação física (PET) que trabalham em escolas secundárias públicas e privadas ligadas ao Ministério da Educação Nacional em Istambul durante o ano letivo de 2012-2013. O grupo de estudo para a investigação foi composto por 296 PET que trabalham nessas escolas e que se voluntariaram. O grupo de investigação foi formado por 36,8% de mulheres (n = 109) e 63,2% de homens (n = 187) PET. Para medir os traços de personalidade dos participantes na investigação, foi utilizada uma escala de personalidade PERI (Inventário de Personalidade) de 25 itens. A escala foi aplicada aos professores através de uma técnica presencial com o investigador. Os resultados da investigação revelaram que não se verificou qualquer diferença significativa entre a área desportiva, o tipo de desporto, o género, os anos de serviço e o tipo de escola dos professores de Educação Física e os traços de personalidade.
