Rozwój przemysłu jest ważnym czynnikiem wpływającym na zwiększenie wydajności produkcji i skrócenie czasu kontroli jakości. Automatyczny system kontroli wizyjnej umożliwia kontrolę produktu w czasie rzeczywistym. Niniejsza praca przedstawia projekt automatycznego systemu kontroli wizyjnej. Podstawowym zadaniem kamery skanującej obszar jest porównanie zarejestrowanego obrazu z obrazem bazowym powierzchni produktu, który jest już zapisany w komputerze głównym. Porównanie to decyduje o tym, czy produkt zostanie dopuszczony, czy odrzucony. Wymagane wyniki można następnie uzyskać za pomocą oprogramowania Matlab do porównywania obrazów. Operacje akceptacji i odrzucenia są kontrolowane przez mikrokontroler (PIC16F84A), który reguluje odrzucanie produktów po przetworzeniu obrazu. Zasadniczym zadaniem kamery liniowej jest skanowanie powierzchni produktu poprzez wieloliniowe przechwytywanie za pomocą wielokrotnych wyzwalaczy generowanych przez enkoder. Wykrywanie wad odbywa się na podstawie różnicy w natężeniu światła na powierzchni produktu z wadą lub bez; wyniki są przedstawiane graficznie za pomocą oprogramowania LabVIEW. Wyniki skanowania liniowego i skanowania powierzchniowego zależą od natężenia światła odbijanego od powierzchni produktu.
