Genetische Algorithmen und künstliche neuronale Netze wurden in den letzten zwei Jahrzehnten kombiniert, um verschiedene Probleme zu lösen. Erstere wurden verwendet, um Parameter und Topologieentscheidungen für letztere zu finden oder um Einschränkungen des Lernalgorithmus zu bewältigen. Einige Probleme erfordern den Einsatz neuronaler Netze als alternative Lösung, aber Studien, die eine Methodik zur Ermittlung der für eine bestimmte Anwendung am besten geeigneten neuronalen Architektur entwickeln, sind in der Literatur selten zu finden. In dieser Arbeit wenden wir genetische Algorithmen an, um neuronale Gewichte zu suchen, und verwenden diese Informationen, um die beste Struktur zu ermitteln und die Effizienz des Lernalgorithmus zu messen. Wir haben ein Kanalentzerrungsproblem als Beispiel verwendet, um die vorgeschlagene Methodik zu testen. Die Ergebnisse dieser Anwendung sind sehr vielversprechend.
