At War with Pontiac or The Totem of the Bear is a historical fiction novel written by Kirk Munroe. The story is set in the 18th century during the French and Indian War in America. The plot revolves around the conflict between the British soldiers, known as the Redcoats, and the Native American tribe, the Ottawas, led by Chief Pontiac. The main character, a young British soldier named Frank, is captured by the Ottawas and is forced to live among them.
