Ziel dieser Studie war es, zu untersuchen, ob Aqua-Aerobic als Managementinstrument in Bezug auf die Kosten für verbrauchte Medikamente, die Gesundheit, die funktionelle körperliche Fitness, die Lebensqualität und die Stimmung von in Heimen untergebrachten älteren Menschen im Alter von 65 Jahren und darüber angesehen werden kann. Der Einfluss des Bildungsniveaus auf diese Variablen wurde ebenfalls analysiert. Bei den Teilnehmern handelte es sich um 54 ältere Menschen beiderlei Geschlechts aus der Stadt Cuiabá/MT, die in eine organisierte und geplante Wassergymnastikgruppe (EG; N=40), die seit über einem Jahr besteht, und eine Kontrollgruppe, die keine körperliche Bewegung betreibt (IG; N=14), aufgeteilt wurden.
