Le niveau d’accessibilité aux transports publics (PTAL) est l’un des nombreux outils utilisés pour calculer le niveau d’accessibilité local aux transports publics dans une zone urbaine. Le PTAL a été créé par le borough londonien de Hammersmith et Fulham, puis adopté par Transport for London (TfL). L’objectif de cette thèse est d’évaluer le niveau d’accessibilité à Vijayawada, en Inde, à l’aide du niveau d’accessibilité aux transports publics (PTAL) et d’identifier les zones prioritaires pour le développement dans la municipalité de Vijayawada. Ici, la méthode PTAL est utilisée pour déterminer le niveau d’accessibilité de tous les points de départ possibles à Vijayawada. Les paramètres pris en compte pour le PTAL sont le temps de marche entre un point de départ et l’arrêt de transport en commun le plus proche, ainsi que le temps d’attente pour monter dans un bus aux heures de pointe.
