Set in the Jute Mills of old Dundee at the turn of the 20th Century, Annie Pepper and her sister Mary try to find some happiness, as they realise that it is the men in their lives who ultimately decide their fate. Follow Annie’s story as she becomes a Dundee Weaver in the jute mills and discovers the friendship and support of the other women, who like her, have to ’work or want’ and share the tears and laughter of her struggle to find love and happiness in the noise and grime of the Jute Mills of Dundee.
