Dear Kids, This collection of stories was written to give you an idea of what it was like growing up in Panama City, Florida in the 1940’s and then some things that happened over the years. Some are funny; others are sad. All are told to the best of my memory and are intended to be a tribute to the many relatives and friends who have made my life so happy. I write stories because I enjoy remembering events and the people with whom I shared them. The book begins with my family’s move from Crocker, Missouri to St. Andrews, Florida now a section of Panama City, and then to the Cove section of Panama City where many of the events took place. I then move on to my times at the University of Florida, and with the Air Force in England. Later stories are set in Perry, Florida; Grande Prairie , Alberta; Americus, Georgia, and most recently in New Bern, North Carolina . The section entitled 'Important People' tells you something about your grandparents. I hope that as you read the stories you get a feel for their personalities. Dad
