In last century many engineers and scientist appliedprincipal of mathematical theories to biologicalsubjects and thus evolved new fields likebiomechanics. A human biomechanical model which canmimic diverse 3D physiological movements is achallenging task. Hundreds of researchers obtainedexperimental data to study and analyze humanmovements. On the other hand, there are fewresearchers who provided analytical models forbiological movements. This book provides newanalytical modeling schemes to biomechanicalmovements, physiological motor control and combinedmusculoskeletal models with neurophysiologiccontroller to emulate muscle commands and jointtorques. This book discusses the details of optimalcontrols with physiological cost functions to analyzethe human sit-to-stand task for healthy and strokepatients. The biomechanical framework uses Maple andMatlab environments for modeling, control andsimulation purposes.
