Ce rapport de stage synthétise les conclusions d’une étude menée de 20 juillet au 20 septembre 2025 dans la zone périphérique Nord de la Réserve de Biosphère du Dja (RBD), un site camerounais classé au patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO. La problématique centrale était d’évaluer comment les Activités Génératrices de Revenus (AGR) peuvent concilier les besoins socio-économiques des communautés locales avec la conservation durable de l’aire protégée. La méthodologie s’est appuyée sur une immersion communautaire de deux mois, combinant une approche qualitative (entretiens semi-structurés avec 80 chefs de ménages, agents de conservation et ONG) et une approche quantitative (collecte de données via l’application Kobocollect et analyse statistique avec Excel). L’étude a également inclus une analyse documentaire rigoureuse pour contextualiser le travail. Les résultats ont permis de catégoriser et d’analyser le potentiel d’un éventail d’AGR existantes (apiculture, pisciculture, agroforesterie, artisanat, microcrédit, etc.). L’étude a révélé que les activités agricoles améliorées et la valorisation des Produits Forestiers Non Ligneux (PFNL) ont le plus fort potentiel pour accroître les revenus et réduire la dépendance à la forêt. Le rapport identifie également de nouvelles pistes à fort potentiel, notamment la valorisation du carbone forestier et des paiements pour services écosystémiques (PSE), ainsi que la transformation avancée des PFNL. Cependant, des défis majeurs persistent, comme le manque d’accès aux marchés, le besoin de formations techniques, et la complexité des investissements initiaux. En conclusion, l’étude montre que le développement communautaire par des AGR durables n’est pas une simple alternative, mais une nécessité absolue pour la pérennité de la conservation. Le succès dépend d’un soutien ciblé, axé sur le renforcement des capacités et la structuration des filières de production et de commercialisation.
