Die Studie beschreibt die Erstellung von Flussgebietsbewirtschaftungsplänen (RBMPs) in Polen im Hinblick auf die Erkennung von Hindernissen und Lösungen zur Erleichterung der Überprüfung und Überarbeitung der Planungsdokumente, die gemäß den Anforderungen der Richtlinie 2000/60/EG (der sogenannten Wasserrahmenrichtlinie - WFD) bis zum 22. Dezember 2015 und danach alle sechs Jahre erfolgen sollten. In der Arbeit wurden folgende Elemente analysiert: Planungsansatz (Methoden und Verfahren für die Planung), Struktur der Planungsinstitution und ihre internen und externen Verbindungen, Beteiligung und Rolle der Öffentlichkeit und der interessierten Parteien am Planungsentscheidungsprozess, Weg zur Integration und Einbeziehung der im Zusammenhang mit dem Klimawandel festgelegten umwelt-, wirtschafts- und sozialpolitischen Ziele des Landes und der Region in die Bewirtschaftungspläne für die Flussgebiete.
