Le problème fondamental de cette recherche est que le cadre théorique de l’analyse des coûts des concurrents n’est pas consolidé, car il y a un manque d’études qui développent le domaine théorique et montrent ce qui se passe réellement dans les organisations par rapport à l’analyse des coûts des concurrents. L’objectif de cette étude était donc : (i) de systématiser les connaissances sur l’analyse des coûts de la concurrence dans un cadre conceptuel appelé cadre théorique de l’analyse des coûts de la concurrence et (ii) d’étudier la réalité des pratiques d’analyse des coûts de la concurrence dans trois entreprises privées opérant au Brésil. Dans le but de vérifier si et dans quelle mesure les éléments qui composent ce cadre théorique reflètent les pratiques d’analyse des coûts de la concurrence des entreprises étudiées, l’étude a développé un exercice formel, organisant et systématisant un cadre théorique.
