Die Exporte sind eine der wichtigsten Komponenten des Außenhandels einer Nation, da sie zur Bildung des BIP beitragen. Daher haben sich viele theoretische Studien mit der Beziehung zwischen Handel und Wachstum befasst. Die vorliegende Studie hat zum Ziel, die Auswirkungen von nicht-landwirtschaftlichen Exporten auf das Wachstum und die Wohlfahrt in Benin zu bewerten, indem sie die Auswirkungen von nicht-landwirtschaftlichen Exporten auf das Wachstum und die Wohlfahrt in Benin untersucht. Die Analyse verwendet Zeitdaten, die den Zeitraum von 1978 bis 2008 abdecken. Die Untersuchung verwendet Kointegrationsschätzungen, um den Zusammenhang zwischen nicht-landwirtschaftlichen Exporten und Wirtschaftswachstum sowie zwischen jeder Art von nicht-landwirtschaftlichen Exporten und zwei ausgewählten Wohlfahrtsindikatoren, nämlich dem Pro-Kopf-Konsum der Haushalte und dem Index der menschlichen Entwicklung, zu ermitteln.Die durchgeführten Schätzungen zeigen, dass nicht-landwirtschaftliche Exporte sowohl kurz- als auch langfristig einen positiven und signifikanten Effekt auf das Wachstum in Benin haben.
