In diesem Buch wird die extreme Energieabhängigkeit des östlichen Teils der Demokratischen Republik Kongo von Ölimporten über die Korridore von Mombasa und Dar es Salaam auf einer faktenbasierten und kritischen Ebene entschlüsselt.Er wird daran erinnern, wie die Analyse der Energieabhängigkeit die Machtdynamik zwischen multinationalen Konzernen und nationalen Akteuren beleuchtet, den Boden für die im nächsten Kapitel folgende Untersuchung der von diesen Firmen in der Region der Großen Seen verfolgten Strategien der Ölführerschaft bereitet und die Frage nach künftigen Diversifizierungsszenarien aufwirft, die die östliche DRK zur Stärkung ihrer Energiesouveränität in Betracht ziehen könnte.Der Bericht verfolgt zwei klare Ziele: Zum einen soll er eine quantitative und qualitative Bestandsaufnahme der Erdölversorgungskette zwischen 1994 und 2024 vornehmen und dabei Volumen, Engpässe und Arbitragemöglichkeiten aufzeigen, die die Dominanz der Korridore Kenia und Tansania erklären.
