Uma série de derivados N-(3-cyano-4,6-diphenylpyridin-2-yl)heteroaryl-4-carboxamide foram sintetizados usando heterociclos contendo nitrogénio. A química das reacções utilizadas na síntese dos compostos alvo, juntamente com as propriedades biológicas, é discutida neste trabalho de investigação. Os compostos sintetizados foram satisfatoriamente caracterizados por espetroscopia de infravermelhos, 1HNMR e 13CNMR. Cinco compostos sintetizados (6a-e) foram testados quanto à atividade anticancerígena in vitro contra a linha celular MCF-7. A atividade in vitro foi baseada no método de ensaio MTT. Os resultados da atividade anticancerígena mostraram que, entre os compostos testados, o composto 6d foi considerado o mais ativo com um valor IC50 de 10 µg, enquanto o composto 6e foi moderadamente ativo com um valor IC50 de 30 µg contra a linha de células MCF-7.
