Per contenere il virus, è stato necessario dichiarare lo stato di emergenza, che è culminato nell’immobilità della circolazione di persone, beni e servizi con la chiusura delle frontiere, incidendo negativamente sulle dinamiche economiche.L’allevamento di pollame in Mozambico è estremamente importante perché fornisce alle famiglie proteine animali, promuovendo la sicurezza alimentare e generando occupazione nel Paese.Pertanto, è stato condotto uno studio nella città di Chókwè con l’obiettivo di analizzare il reddito degli allevatori di polli di Chókwè durante la Covid19. È emerso che la pandemia Covid-19 ha colpito direttamente la produzione di pollame dei piccoli e medi produttori della città di Chókwè, aumentando i prezzi dei fattori produttivi, riducendo significativamente la quantità prodotta durante la pandemia e aumentando il prezzo di vendita del pollo sul mercato.
