Home educated from 5th grade until attending college, Merridith discusses frequently asked questions about her years of unschooling and how her alternative education influenced her life. Families venturing into the sometimes murky waters of home education have often queried her and her family, seeking support. After finishing college she realized that she could share her story about how students can achieve academic success without the bullying, stress, and peer pressure common in so many school systems. Merridith graduated from college in 2010 earning a B.A. in art and has been working for an educational services company while she completed this book. She draws on all that she has learned, as well as her own experience, to explain how unschooling can be a fulfilling educational alternative for many children.
