An Atheist’s Delusion is my response and perspective on Richard Dawkins’ book titled 'The God Delusion', from a Latter-day Saint’s perspective. I could not find a single book authored by a Latter-day Saint, giving his or her perspective and arguments against Mr. Dawkins’ arguments put forth in his anti-Theist/anti-Christ book. In the beginning my reason and purpose for writing 'An Atheist’s Delusion', was not to publish it. But over the past four years, I had several family members, as well as close friends, who found themselves in a faith crisis and suffering from cognitive dissonance regarding God’s existence and believing the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints restoration story was true, and some of them ultimately left the Church (By Church I mean The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints). In speaking with each of them I assured them that I loved them no matter their struggles or ultimate decision regarding their faith in God or lack of faith in Him. One of them, however, asked if I would read Mr. Dawkins’ book, 'The God Delusion', so I could better understand where they were coming from and why they were struggling so much with their faith questions, and so I bought the book and read it. After reading the book I told my friend I wanted to write up some answers that were my perspectives regarding several of the arguments that Mr. Dawkins had put forth in his book, and after several back-and-forth emails with this young man, I decided to write a more robust rebuttal to Richard Dawkins claims, coming from my personal perspective as a Latter-day Saint. After two-and-a-half years I finally finished my book and have made it available for anyone who would like to read what a Latter-Day Saint’s perspective is on Atheism, Darwinism, and the reality of God, including the many reference legs of evidence I have put forth in An Atheist’s Delusion.
