Obwohl die Informationstechnologie schon seit relativ langer Zeit in die Gesundheitsfürsorge integriert ist, wird die elektronische Patientenakte (EMR) nur in begrenztem Umfang genutzt, und die Kliniker stoßen bei der Nutzung der EMR immer noch auf Herausforderungen, die in vielen Fällen als zusätzliche Arbeitsbelastung und Quelle von Burnout angesehen werden. Die Wahrnehmung der Angehörigen der Gesundheitsberufe ist ein wesentlicher Faktor für den Erfolg oder Misserfolg des Einführungsprozesses. EMR werden zunehmend in Entwicklungsländern eingeführt, doch ist nur wenig über die Nutzung von EMR in diesen Ländern bekannt. In dieser Studie wurden die Erfahrungen und Einstellungen ägyptischer Krankenschwestern gegenüber EMR untersucht.
