AFRIKA und die AFRIKANER befinden sich in einem Paradoxon, das schwer zu akzeptieren ist. Der Kontinent ist einer der reichsten an vielfältigen und wertvollen Ressourcen weltweit; gleichzeitig gehören die afrikanischen Völker jedoch zu den ärmsten und bedürftigsten der Welt. Zwar stellen die Sklaverei und die Kolonialisierung, unter denen Afrika in der Vergangenheit vor allem gelitten hat, sowie die verheerenden Folgen des westlichen Imperialismus, unter denen es auch heute noch leidet - mit Unterwerfungspolitiken wie der „France-Afrique' -, große Hindernisse für die Modernisierung und den Aufschwung dieses Kontinents dar. Dennoch kann und muss sich Afrika entwickeln, wenn und nur wenn die Afrikaner von heute und morgen dies beschließen. Die afrikanischen Eliten, die wie ihre westlichen Kollegen an den renommiertesten Hochschulen ausgebildet wurden, müssen ihre Verantwortung wahrnehmen, um ihre Landsleute besser auf den Weg des Friedens und der Entwicklung zu führen. Afrika kann und muss sich entwickeln; es muss lediglich gut verwaltet und sehr gut geführt werden!
