Sebbene l’intervento curricolare operato dalla Legge 10.639/03 possa essere considerato un passo avanti nel riconoscimento e nella problematizzazione della questione razziale, non è raro assistere ancora alla negazione del razzismo nell’ambiente scolastico, talvolta manifestata dal silenzio dei professionisti dell’educazione di fronte alle manifestazioni di pregiudizio e discriminazione razziale. L’obiettivo di questo libro è analizzare i racconti degli insegnanti sulle pratiche pedagogiche premiate dalla quarta edizione del Premio Educare all’Uguaglianza Razziale, un’iniziativa dell’organizzazione non governativa CEERT (Centro per lo Studio delle Relazioni di Lavoro e delle Disuguaglianze) della città di San Paolo, cercando di indagare i contributi di queste pratiche per affrontare il razzismo nel contesto scolastico. Questa pubblicazione sottolinea che le pratiche pedagogiche finalizzate all’educazione antirazzista incoraggiano i professionisti dell’educazione a rompere il loro silenzio e a fornire uno spazio agli studenti per esprimersi, contribuendo così allo sviluppo di pratiche formative nella prospettiva dell’educazione paritaria.
