Gaz ziemny stanowi atrakcyjną alternatywę dla paliw konwencjonalnych ze względu na niską cenę, naturalną dostępność oraz mniejszą toksyczność emitowanych gazów. Do rozwoju technologii ANG niezbędne są odpowiednie adsorbenty o doskonałych właściwościach i dużej pojemności magazynowej. Ze względu na swoje odpowiednie właściwości materiały węglowe zostały poddane ocenie pod kątem adsorpcji gazu ziemnego. Biorąc pod uwagę wyjątkowe właściwości nanorurek węglowych, uzyskanie odpowiednich właściwości magazynowania gazu za pomocą metody ANG stanowi interesujący obszar badań. W pierwszym rozdziale zbadano adsorpcję gazu ziemnego na różnych typach nanorurek węglowych i porównano ją z danymi dotyczącymi adsorpcji uzyskanymi dla granulowanego węgla aktywnego. Następnie w drugim rozdziale zbadano i omówiono wpływ różnych obróbek chemicznych na wydajność nanorurek węglowych w adsorpcji gazu ziemnego. Ponadto w niniejszej publikacji oceniono równowagę sorpcyjną, kinetykę oraz przeprowadzono badania termodynamiczne procesów adsorpcji.
