A Norma Internacional de Contabilidade (IAS) tem sido um tema sobre o qual vários estudos têm sido realizados nos últimos tempos. Devido ao crescimento dos negócios internacionais entre os países, há um forte apoio a favor da IAS. A IAS é um conjunto bem estruturado de normas contábeis que aumentará a transparência, a compreensibilidade e promoverá a aceitação mundial dos relatórios financeiros. Muitos países em desenvolvimento adotaram a IAS. Ao contrário de outros países em desenvolvimento, Bangladesh também adotou a IAS. O autor tentou investigar o processo de adoção da IAS e o seu impacto na economia do Bangladesh e no padrão atual da prática contabilística no Bangladesh. Ao empregar entrevistas semiestruturadas e utilizar dados de arquivo, este estudo retratou o processo de adoção da IAS e o cenário atual da prática contabilística no Bangladesh.
